Sleepy is a community-driven soundscape platform. We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the app. We do not sell, share, or monetize your data.
Data We Collect
Via Google Sign-In (mobile app)
- Email address — used to identify your account.
- Display name — from your Google profile, shown as your identity in the app.
Via soundscape submission (web & app)
- Name — the name you provide to credit your submission.
- Audio URL — the link to your sound recording.
- Image URL — optional cover image for your submission.
- Description — optional text describing the soundscape.
Via Health Connect (mobile app)
Our app requests access to health data via Google Health Connect to enhance your experience. This includes:
- Sleep Data — to analyze your rest patterns in conjunction with our soundscapes.
- Heart Rate & Heart Rate Variability (HRV) — to monitor your physiological response and provide insights into your relaxation levels.
- Background Access — to ensure your health metrics are synchronized automatically even when the app is not in the foreground.
How We Use Your Data
- To authenticate you via Google Sign-In.
- To review and publish your soundscape submission.
- To credit your name alongside your soundscape in the library.
- For Health Data — used strictly to provide personalized health insights within the app. We do not use health data for advertising or marketing purposes.
Third-Party Services
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking pixels.
We do not transfer your health data to any third-party data brokers or ad platforms.
Data Retention
Account data is retained for as long as you use the app. Submission data is stored for as long as the soundscape remains in our library. You may request deletion of your account and all associated health data at any time by contacting us.
